Douglas Manufacturing, a Group Rulmeca Company and a leader and innovator in the conveyor industry, announced today that it has broken ground on its new idler plant in Pell City. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the company’s existing facility at 300 Industrial Park Drive. The multi-million-dollar project will create over 50 jobs and result in a state-of-the-art idler production facility. Additional improvements are being made to increase capacity in Douglas’s other four product lines.

The new idler plant of Douglas Manufacturing will be equipped with the latest equipment and automation technologies. The company will also adopt the premium Rulmeca PSV idler design, which offers improved sealing, stability and durability. The
project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, enabling the company to significantly increase its production capacity for key components such as pulleys, lagging, idlers, magnetics, impact beds, and take-ups.
